Why Stabbing Guides are Necessary
MSI Pipe Protection Technologies knows that tubulars and their threads are vital to operations and must be protected to ensure no downtime, losses, or safety issues. Because of this, it’s important to offer protection for tubular piping throughout all steps of a particular process, including make-up; stabbing guides from MSI, do just that.
Stabbing guides are comprised of mostly steel cores, and urethane outer shells, complete with handles for guidance and varying types of closures. These guides are used during the time of making up a string of pipe, connecting the pin and box threads, and preventing face damage and/or connection failure. Functioning as a funneled guide for pipe, a stabbing guide is molded to fit the specific dimensions of your thread profile, ensuring that you have proper guidance for connecting pipe.
Multiple Designs for Your Specific Need
MSI’s rugged stabbing guides are available for all API tubing, casing, and drill pipe, and can also accommodate a wide range of custom threaded product as well. We offer designs in several closure types and also varying levels of urethane and steel. From a lighter duty plastic guide with a basic, buckled closure to an extreme heavy-duty guide with a large, quick-lock bolt closure, we are sure to have a guide to fit your need for protection and durability.
